Veterinary Student Externships

For many years, we’ve been proud to offer externships for veterinary students interested in gaining real-world experience in mixed or large animal medicine.

We especially encourage students to plan their externship in the spring, when they’ll have the opportunity to participate in calving calls and herd health work alongside our veterinarians.

Externship opportunities are limited and may not always be open for new applicants. We encourage students to reach out directly to Dr. Woodford ([email protected]) for information about current available externship positions.

Veterinary Technician Apprentice Program

We’re excited to announce our new Veterinary Technician Apprentice Program, designed to support our team members in advancing their careers while continuing their important work in our clinics.

This two-year program, led by Program Coordinator Dr. Emily Gosda, provides apprentices with extra guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training alongside their regular roles. Participants also complete college coursework to strengthen their skills and knowledge.

By the end of the program, apprentices will have completed 4,500 hours of supervised work and training, making them eligible to sit for the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Exam) and earn licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Montana.

This program reflects our commitment to investing in our team, expanding opportunities for growth, and strengthening the care we provide to our clients and their animals.
